The Observatório do Ciberjornalismo, in the Centro de Estudos das Tecnologías e Ciências da Comunicaçao (CETAC.media) organizes the I Congresso Internacional de Ciberjornalismo, having like pounding thematic the denominated “media 3G”. First figures of the investigation in the scope of the media online will debate on the convergence and the multitextualidad, blogs, the confirmation of the “media of the citizen”, etc.

The challenges are many that it has to confront the cyberjournalism and in this congress the basic lines of evolution of the on line media model will be analyzed, simultaneously that will update the generated scientific knowledge around the subject.

Así, afirmando a existencia dunha nova forma de facer xornalismo, comezaba a intervención do profesor doutor da Universidade Federal de Santa Caterina (Florianopolis, Brasil) Elías Machado na visita que fixo á Facultade de Ciencias da Comunicación de Santiago, onde impartiu dúas clases mestras.

O xornalismo, cada vez máis, pasa polas bases de datos e os xornalistas deben entender que para desenvolver o seu traballo diario dunha maneira eficiente no marco da converxencia deben necesitan educarse nas destrezas básicas para desenvolverse no emprego das bases de datos.

Para Elías Machado, o xornalismo dixital en base de datos é unha forma de poder buscar e seleccionar información para logo empregala na construción da realiade xornalística. Desta concepción deriva unha conclusión clara e diáfana: a información que sexa introducida en bases de datos será capaz de responder á demanda de rapidez e inmediatez propias das rutinas xornalísticas, mentres que a que non se atope estruturada e categorizada mediante base de datos non será quen de dar resposta á necesidades do xornalista á hora de crear un discurso de significación xornalístico.


“É fundamental que o xornalista pense en organizar a información en bases de datos”, continúa dicindo Elías, co obxectivo de que “as mesmas bases de datos sexan entendidas e funcionen como soportes de elementos narrativos”. Ademais, nos procesos de converxencia inciados polas empresas mediáticas é un factor importantísimo a automatización dos procesos mediante as bases de datos, xa que permiten recoller, producir e distriubír contido para diferentes públicos e plataformas de circulación nun ecosistema mediático dixitalizado. O soporte non varía –sempre é a base de datos- e pode funcionar con diversos contidos que, unha vez dixitalizados, se poden poñer en valor a través da súa posta en circulación nas diferentes plataformas. Deste xeito, dás unha conxunción perfecta dos procesos de automatización co perfil do xornalista –profesional altamente especializado- que aporta marcas de identidade aos produtos.
