The Consello da Cultura Galega organizes this meeting that tries to be an approximation to the situation of Galicia in the knowledge society .
The forum ‘ Galicia in the Society of the Knowledge ‘ will approach the situation of Galicia in the knowledge society from three perspectives: economic, sociological and technological. Following these points of view, the meeting organizes three central topics: Galicia and the globalization, the citizens in the information society , Galicia and the information and knowledge technologies .

The meeting is celebrated in a moment in which the knowledge society turns increasingly into a central element of life of the developed contemporary societies, so much into the social aspects as in economic and cultural. In the base of this phenomenon there is the great technological revolution of the information produced in the last three decades, period in which the extraordinary multiplication of the aptitude to distribute flows of information was proportional to the division of hiscosts. The so called economic globalization and his principal manifestation, the financier, do not explain without this information the same as it happens with the change in the customs and habits of wide sectors of the population.
